Gabapentin Capsules for epilepsy: it is indicated for the adjunctive treatment of partial seizures with or without secondary generalized seizures in adults and children over 12 years of age; it is also used as an adjunctive treatment for partial seizures in children between 3 and 12 years of age. If the drug is used for the treatment of postherpetic infection neuralgia, there may be adverse reactions such as vertigo, drowsiness, peripheral edema; there may also be systemic symptoms such as debilitation, infection, and headache; and in a few cases, there may be gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, and gastrointestinal flatulence. If used for the treatment of epilepsy, in addition to the above symptoms, there may be visual disturbances, tremor, joint dislocation and other symptoms. It is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to gabapentin capsules, or who have acute pancreatitis. The drug is not effective for people with primary generalized seizures epilepsy.
