What is picc?

The term picc refers to central venous infusion, which is an auxiliary infusion method often used in clinical practice.
There are two ways of central venous infusion, one is direct puncture of deep vein and the other is picc. picc cannula can be inserted into deep vein through elbow vein of the arm, which is mainly used for nutritional support after surgery and chemotherapy for tumor patients.
The advantages of picc cannula are high puncture success rate, low infection rate, low risk, can be placed for more than half a year, some can be up to one year, to avoid the side effects of superficial vein infusion, such as phlebitis.
The arm with the catheter can be moved appropriately in daily life to avoid prolonged sagging of the arm. Regularly observe whether the catheter comes out of the body or slips into the body.
