I think there are many aspects of type 1 diabetes patients that we should learn from. When a patient learns that he or she has type 1 diabetes, the child who understands begins to weep; when he or she learns that diabetes requires insulin injection therapy, there should be a kind of terrible lightness of heart. Almost everyone goes through this stage of mental adjustment and adaptation. After the tears dry, the patient soon learns the insulin injection method, diabetes diet, exercise therapy, and self-testing blood sugar. Slowly patients develop a good routine and gradually learn a lot of life skills, and soon become diabetic physicians, nurses, nutritionists, examiners and so on. Young patients, look at other friends unrestrained eating ice cream, grow up some want to do the work, but part of the restrictions, especially the social other eye, they often shut themselves up in the heart, in the subconscious lost striving and self-confidence, often have negative handling, produce irritability, disappointment, anger and other emotions. Diabetic patients themselves feel very lonely, which requires more attention from everyone and society. We used to organize group activities for diabetic patients, the Sugar Club, where they not only get methods and skills to treat the disease, but also their hearts get empathy, open their hearts, show their long-lost smiling faces, increase their confidence in life and future, reduce loneliness, etc. Although there is no good cure for type 1 diabetes, they still have a bright future through the efforts of patients and society. Recently, the medical community has been making unremitting efforts: islet transplantation, stem cell transplantation and other methods are not very mature, but in the near future, I believe that there will be better treatment methods and means for type 1 diabetes.
