Pituitary macroadenoma surgery risks

The risks associated with surgery are relative, for example, if the pituitary macroadenoma adheres closely to the surrounding tissues, the surgery will be more difficult. For pituitary macroadenoma and surgical risks may exist: 1. bleeding, if pituitary macroadenoma and surrounding tissues adhere closely, it will easily lead to bleeding during the separation process; 2. for pituitary macroadenoma surgical operation, it is inevitable that the pituitary stalk will be damaged. If the pituitary stalk is damaged, patients may suffer from uveitis at a later stage. Most uveitis can be cured, but very few will be left with permanent uveitis; 3. After pituitary macroadenoma surgery, there is a risk of complications such as hypopituitarism, intracranial infection and cerebrospinal fluid leakage.
