Talking about back pain

Low back pain is a very common problem, with about 80% of people experiencing low back pain at some point in their lives. In the United States, low back pain is the most common reason for missing work due to health problems. Low back pain can be classified according to the duration of the pain: acute low back pain (lasting less than 4 weeks); subacute low back pain (4-12 weeks); and chronic low back pain (greater than 12 weeks). There are hundreds of known causes of low back pain, but they can be summarized as: mechanical low back pain; inflammatory low back pain; tumor low back pain; metabolic low back pain; mental physical related low back pain; involvement low back pain; depressive low back pain, etc. The vast majority of low back pain is caused by soft tissue strain such as muscle or ligament, which is called non-specific low back pain, and the pain is significantly relieved within a few weeks by conservative treatment. Chronic low back pain, on the other hand, has complex causes and is more difficult to deal with. I. How to prevent it? Exercise can effectively prevent the recurrence of non-acute low back pain. Using squatting rather than bending when lifting heavy objects can protect the back. Avoiding a fixed position for a long time can effectively reduce low back pain. Sitting for long periods of time, such as playing mahjong or computer games, can cause low back pain. Avoid smoking. Smoking can cause vasoconstriction, resulting in reduced blood flow to the spine and accelerating spinal degeneration. The best treatment for acute low back pain is self care. Cold compresses are applied for the first 48-72 hours to reduce bleeding and edema, followed by hot compresses to promote absorption of swelling. Keeping as active as possible within the limits of pain tolerance will not only not aggravate low back pain, but will promote recovery and reduce the occurrence of chronic low back pain. A hard bed is not as effective as a moderately hard or soft mattress. Short-term use of painkillers and muscle relaxants can relieve pain.
