Gastric mesenchymal tumors are junctional tumors, which are more common mesenchymal tumors in clinical practice and can be divided into two types: low-grade malignant and highly malignant. For different types of gastric mesenchymal tumors, there are differences in the chance of transformation into malignant tumors, and the clinical manifestations are also slightly different. 1. Low malignant gastric mesenchymal tumors: Low gastric mesenchymal tumors are small in size, usually <5cm, most of them are around 2cm. The boundaries with surrounding tissues are clear and the tumor shape is regular, and usually does not invade the surrounding organs and tissues; 2. High malignant gastric mesenchymal tumor: Compared with low malignant gastric mesenchymal tumor, the tumor is larger, usually >5cm, and the density, texture, and shape are uneven and regular, and the boundaries with surrounding tissues are not obvious. Metastases to other tissues and organs may occur. Gastric mesenchymal tumors do not only occur in the stomach, but may also be found in parts of the intestine such as the small intestine and colorectum. There are clinical measures to deal with both types of gastric mesenchymal tumors. Aggressive surgical treatment can effectively resolve gastric mesenchymal tumors, which are usually treated with gastric wedge resection. The risk of recurrence and metastasis of highly malignant gastric mesenchymal tumors can be reduced by surgical treatment of low-grade malignant mesenchymal tumors and early highly malignant mesenchymal tumors.
