Regurgitation and vomiting in late pregnancy may have physiologic and pathologic causes, such as gastrointestinal disorders, liver and gallbladder diseases, and so on.
1. Physiological: pregnancy vomiting sometimes occurs in late pregnancy, the fluctuation of hormones in late pregnancy, the increase of abdominal pressure, etc., may cause regurgitation and vomiting.
2. Pathologic:
(1) Gastrointestinal diseases: pyloric obstruction and intestinal obstruction and other obstructive diseases, gastroenteritis, functional dyspepsia and so on may cause regurgitation and vomiting in late pregnancy, and the patient may also have abdominal pain, abdominal distension, constipation, diarrhea and other symptoms.
(2) Hepatobiliary, pancreatic and splenic diseases: cholelithiasis and pancreatitis may cause regurgitation and vomiting in late pregnancy.
(3) Vestibular disorders: Meniere’s disease, suppurative otitis media, motion sickness and other vestibular disorders may cause regurgitation and vomiting in late pregnancy.
There may be other reasons for regurgitation and vomiting in late pregnancy, so it is recommended to consult a doctor in time, improve the relevant examinations to clarify the cause of the disease and then standardized treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
