What to do if you keep wheezing while running

Running wheezing needs to identify the cause, may be physiological, may also be pathological; physiological generally do not need special treatment, pathologically caused by the need for targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor, such as drug therapy, surgical treatment, and so on.
1. Physiological: when running, the body’s demand for oxygen increases, and the normal respiratory rate can’t inhale enough oxygen, so it’s necessary to speed up the respiratory rate to meet the required oxygen supply. At this time, you need to slowly slow down the speed, and then stop to rest for a while can be relieved.
2. Pathologic:
(1) Hyperventilation after strenuous exercise results in loss of water and heat from the airway mucosal epithelium, and osmotic pressure is temporarily too high, inducing bronchial smooth muscle spasm causing bronchial asthma, which manifests itself as recurrent episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, or coughing, among other symptoms. Consider giving leukotriene inhibitors such as montelukast, and glucocorticoids such as budesonide.
(2) Coronary heart disease symptoms induced by strenuous exercise, manifested by chest pain (angina), palpitations, shortness of breath, etc.. Commonly used drugs include nitrate drugs such as nitroglycerin, beta-blockers such as metoprolol, and calcium channel blockers such as nifedipine; interventional therapy or surgical treatment can also be used.
But do not rule out other factors, if persistent shortness of breath should be timely consultation, clear cause of the disease to comply with the doctor’s instructions standardized treatment.
