The treatment for blepharitis in children includes general treatment, medication, and surgery.
1. General treatment: Pay attention to eye hygiene, don’t rub your eyes with dirty hands, and don’t squeeze your eyelids when they are red, swollen, or pus-filled to avoid spreading the inflammation. Hot compresses in the early stage can promote blood circulation around the eyes and relieve discomfort.
2. Medication: Early on, localized hot compresses or ultrashort wave therapy, local antibiotic eye drops or eye ointment, such as levofloxacin eye drops, erythromycin ointment and so on. When the disease is serious, antibiotics should be applied systemically, such as erythromycin.
3. Surgical treatment: if there is abscess, incision and drainage surgery should be carried out, and the pus cavity should be drained, and change the medicine until cured.
When a child has granuloma, parents should take him to the hospital in time, and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment.
