Is polycystic kidney inherited from generation to generation

Polycystic kidneys are generally not inherited from generation to generation. Polycystic kidney is generally categorized into Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease and Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease, which are basically inherited from parents to their children.
1. Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease: This type is more common and is often found at the age of 30 to 50 years old. In addition to the involvement of kidneys, liver cysts, pancreatic cysts, heart valve abnormalities and intracranial aneurysms will also be found. Generally, if one of the parents has this disease, it may be passed on to the children.
2. Autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease: it occurs mostly in infants, is rare in clinic, and seldom occurs in children or adolescents, and often involves the liver, which is manifested as liver cysts. Often both parents of the patient carry the gene for polycystic kidney, and the parents may not develop the disease and pass this gene to the next generation, resulting in the development of the child.
When Polycystic Kidney occurs, it is recommended to go to regular hospitals in time to have the type of disease analyzed by professional doctors and actively cooperate with the treatment.
