How to treat malassezia

Malassezia is an infection of the superficial skin layer, stratum corneum and hair follicles caused by Malassezia. Occasionally, it is complicated by a systemic infection. Treatment is primarily a combination therapy. For superficial infections, topical applications or topical washes such as tincture of tretinoin, tincture of hydrochlorine, and miconazole cream can be used. For systemic infections, relatively mild patients can be cured by stopping the fatty milk. For severe cases, amphotericin B, flucytosine, itraconazole and fluconazole can be chosen. However, note that oral terbinafine is ineffective in treating the disease. Chinese medicine treatment can also be used, such as topical application of Xiong Huang Jie Wu San after mixing with Bai Bu wine. This disease is slow and prone to recurrence anytime a follow-up visit is made.
