Most of the survival of esophageal tracheal fistula depends on the specific situation. Once esophageal tracheal fistula occurs, it is mostly the result of the advanced stage of esophageal cancer. Because esophageal cancer may have early lymph node metastasis, especially liver metastasis and lung metastasis, and the tracheotracheal fistula may easily cause obstruction of eating and swallowing, or difficulty in eating. In this case, gastrointestinal decompression or esophageal stenting is usually used. This approach only improves the symptoms and does not fully treat the disease. For the disease with multiple metastases, most of the survival period is still relatively small. In conclusion, the survival of esophageal-tracheal fistula is usually 3-6 months, and may last about 6 months or 10 months, or 1-2 months for other types of already malignant states.
