Is it harmful to induce vomiting once in a while?

Occasionally vomiting is not very harmful, but there are still certain hazards and risks, which may lead to esophageal mucosal damage, Marvel Syndrome, etc. Prolonged vomiting may also lead to anorexia and other psychosomatic disorders.
1. Esophageal mucosal damage: emetic vomit from the stomach or even the intestines, which contains gastric acid, intestinal fluids, bile and other digestive fluids, through the esophagus, the esophageal mucosal irritation and chemical damage can be caused by esophagitis, esophageal hemorrhage, chronic pharyngitis, laryngeal edema and so on, long-term emetic patients, the risk of esophageal cancer will increase.
2. Marvel syndrome: i.e. esophageal cardia mucosal tear syndrome, when vomiting, the intra-abdominal pressure increases, the cardia is a muscular narrowing connecting the esophagus and the stomach, when the vomitus passes through the cardia and enters into the esophagus, it may lead to the cardia mucosal tearing, and even lead to the gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage.
3. Anorexia: prolonged emetic will lead to eating disorder, which will make the patient suffer from extreme thinness, malnutrition, sleep disorder and behavioral abnormality such as reduction of interpersonal communication, affecting the patient’s normal life.
Occasionally vomiting is less harmful than long-term vomiting, but still need to pay attention to the existence of hazards and risks, non-essential not to vomit.
