Acute laryngitis is mostly one of the manifestations of upper respiratory tract infections and has a relatively short duration of about 1 week. However, if patients do not receive timely treatment, it can lead to complications such as otitis media and pneumonia, or lead to recurrent symptoms that require prolonged treatment. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time and standardize the medication and treatment under the doctor’s guidance.
1. If acute laryngitis caused by bacterial infection, you can take antibiotics such as cefadroxil and cefradine as prescribed by the doctor to inhibit bacterial infection and relieve the symptoms of sore throat and fever.
2. It can also be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or glucocorticosteroids, commonly used including ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen, celecoxib, etc. Glucocorticosteroids are commonly used, such as methylprednisone, prednisone, hydrocortisone, dexamethasone, betamethasone and so on.
3. Besides, acute laryngitis can also be reduced by nebulizer (e.g., budesonide nebulizer) to reduce the edema of the throat.
