The prognosis of sarcomatoid carcinoma in lung cancer is very poor, and the 5-year survival rate is reported to be about 21%. Specifically, it is related to whether the individual has received effective treatment, survival is the underlying physique, and the size and location of the tumor, as well as specific molecular biological characteristics, and whether there is metastasis. If the patient is able to receive effective surgical treatment and the surgery is done very cleanly, the 5-year survival rate can be increased by about 33%, which is 1/3 of the cases. If surgery is not possible, or if the surgery is not done cleanly and is not very sensitive to radiotherapy, the 5-year survival rate is much worse, less than 10%. Overall, lung sarcoma-like carcinoma is a rare lung malignancy that is difficult to treat and has a poor prognosis. However, it is comforting to know that the emergence of anti-vascular targeted drugs and immunotherapy drugs may subsequently improve the survival of lung sarcoma-like carcinoma.
