Causes of precocious puberty in girls

Precocious puberty in girls generally refers to precocious puberty, which can be categorized into central and peripheral, of which central can include idiopathic and secondary. 1. Central precocious puberty mainly refers to the premature development of the center of the hypothalamus, leading to the early appearance of puberty, also known as true precocious puberty. The cause of idiopathic precocious puberty is unknown, and it can be related to genetic, environmental and other factors, and it is caused by abnormal regulation of hypothalamic neuroendocrine function. Other common secondary causes include hypothalamic malformation tumor and arachnoid cyst. 2. Peripheral precocious puberty mainly refers to the increase of sex hormone level in the body caused by other factors, also known as pseudoprecocious puberty. Common causes include ovarian cysts and congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Some of them can also be caused by the intake of drugs and food containing estrogen and other sex hormones, such as taking birth control pills by mistake. If there is any discomfort or developmental abnormality, it is recommended to consult a doctor for prompt treatment.
