Babies with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) are usually seen by hanging up with Pediatrics or Pediatric Infectious Diseases (PID).
Hand, foot and mouth disease is caused by enteroviruses, most often seen in enterovirus 71, coxsackievirus group A type 16 infection. Most children present with fever and scattered rashes or herpes on the hands, feet, and mouth. HFMD is an acute infectious disease and can be seen in pediatrics or pediatric infectious diseases.
Most children with HFMD are mild and have a good prognosis, while a few patients may develop meningitis, myocarditis and pneumonia. Hand, foot and mouth disease is contagious, children should be isolated to avoid cross-infection.
After the baby suffers from hand, foot and mouth disease, should be taken to the hospital in a timely manner, under the guidance of the doctor for formal treatment.
