Levonorgestrel ethinyl estradiol tablets inhibit ovulation and are a long-acting oral contraceptive for women. Patients may experience early pregnancy-like reactions after taking the pill, similar to those seen with short-acting oral contraceptives, but more severe. It is more severe in the first few cycles after starting the pill, and the reaction usually occurs 8-12 hours after the pill is taken. Patients may also experience increased leucorrhea after taking the pill, which is the most common side effect of long-acting oral contraceptives and occurs after cycles 3-6. Some patients may also experience excessive menstruation or amenorrhea, and others may experience stomach pain, swelling, breast tenderness, and headache. Regular medical checkups should be performed during the course of the drug and abnormalities should be discontinued promptly. The drug should be discontinued immediately when these symptoms appear, such as suspected pregnancy, thromboembolic disease, visual disturbance, severe headache or migraine of unknown origin, the presence of hypertension, abnormal liver function, mental depression, ischemic heart disease, etc. These diseases should be discontinued immediately if they appear.
