Plantar warts are on the surface of the soft tissue of the skin, not in the bone. A plantar wart is a localized keratosis of the skin due to wear and tear or viral infection or other causes, forming a hardened foci. A physical examination reveals that the foci can be pushed along with the movement of the skin, and that there is no connection with the head of the jaws, and X-rays reveal no abnormal growths in the bone near the foci. The main treatment is to wear soft-soled shoes to reduce wear and tear, or to locally scrape the skin surface of the sclerosis to alleviate the symptoms.
