Hospitalization is usually done about 3 days before the birth.
The length of hospitalization varies for each woman due to her mode of delivery and her condition.
Under normal circumstances, if a woman is having a cesarean section, she can be hospitalized about 3 days before her due date and can be admitted for observation and some necessary prenatal checkups. For women who have placenta praevia or are at risk of labor and choose to have a cesarean section, it is recommended that they be hospitalized at about 34 weeks of pregnancy.
Early hospitalization is usually not necessary if the woman has a normal delivery and her pre-pregnancy and prenatal checkups are clear. You can wait until you have regular contractions to arrive at the hospital in time for delivery. If there is a shortage of beds in the local hospital, you can be hospitalized one day earlier.
There is no hard and fast rule on how long a woman should stay in the hospital before giving birth. You can decide on the length of hospitalization according to your own situation or by consulting your doctor.
