What does narrowing of the intervertebral space mean?

Narrowing of the intervertebral space is a pathological change in the intervertebral space that can be shown on X-rays, CT, and MRI. Narrowing of the intervertebral space is often due to degeneration of the discs between the vertebrae, degeneration of the discs, or herniation of the nucleus pulposus, resulting in narrowing of the intervertebral space. Narrowing of the intervertebral space means that there is a risk of disc herniation or pathological changes such as degeneration. If narrowing of the intervertebral space is found on the X-ray, CT and MRI should be taken actively to further confirm the diagnosis of lumbar disc lesion. After the diagnosis of lumbar disc lesion is confirmed, early treatment should be given actively so that symptoms such as back pain and numbness and pain in the lower limbs can be relieved and disappear.
