Rhinoplasty prostheses are usually made of two materials, silicone and expanders. Both materials have been in clinical use for a long time, can usually be placed permanently, and are very histocompatible with very little rejection. Expanded body, in particular, can grow into the surrounding tissue, which is more fixed and gives better results. In the absence of complications, rhinoplasty implants can usually be placed for life. However, due to various factors, candidates may request to take out the prosthesis, as follows: 1. With ageing, the rhinoplasty nose is no longer suitable for the face, and it looks more abrupt; 2. If an L-shaped prosthesis is placed in the surgery, the tip of the nose is subjected to greater force, and those with thin nasal skin tissues, the nasal prosthesis is permeable to light over time, and the tip of the nose may gradually redden and become visible; 3. After the prosthesis is operated, after a longer period of time, it may make the surrounding tissues slightly thinned or squeezed. Overall, rhinoplasty implants can be placed permanently. Although silicone has some aging issues, it is not a big problem as a nasal prosthesis. It can also be replaced after 15-20 years if the candidate is particularly concerned.
