Cortisone, chemically known as Rosuvastatin Calcium, is primarily used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, including hypercholesterolemia and mixed hyperlipidemia. Cortisone is available in 5mg, 10mg or 20mg per tablet and is usually taken orally once a day, starting with 5mg per tablet. It can be given at any time during the day, independent of eating or fasting. It is contraindicated in patients with renal insufficiency, especially in patients with severe renal impairment, and should not be taken in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Liver function and the presence of muscle pain need to be monitored during administration.
