The main effects of alum are dispelling dampness and relieving itching, stopping bleeding and diarrhea (stop bleeding and diarrhea), and dispelling wind and phlegm, etc., as follows:
1. Dispel dampness and stop itching: alum is dry and can dispel dampness, for eczema caused by heavy dampness, women’s leucorrhoea increased vaginal itching, etc., alum can improve the symptoms.
2. Stop bleeding and diarrhea: alum is acidic and astringent, it can be used for diarrhea, leakage (excessive menstrual flow or more than a few drops), blood in stool and other evidence.
3. Dispel wind and phlegm: Alum is acidic and bitter, can make wind and phlegm discharge, for phlegm paralysis caused by paralysis of the heart and orifices, such as madness, epilepsy and so on, has a certain effect.
