Patients presenting with right abdominal pain but normal ultrasound and CT may have a functional disorder, such as irritable bowel syndrome, where the patient may present with abdominal pain or abdominal discomfort and may be accompanied by abnormal stools. Some people with psychosomatic disorders, such as depression, may also show some somatic symptoms and may present with right abdominal pain. In this case, the findings may be normal.
