What causes frequent dizziness in children

The causes of dizziness in children may be postural hypotension, sinusitis, hyperventilation, anemia, etc. The exact cause needs to be clarified after medical examination.
Dizziness in children is different from dizziness in adults. Heart valve disease and arrhythmia, which cause dizziness in adults, are less common in children. Common causes of dizziness in children are:
1. Postural hypotension: manifested as dizziness when getting up quickly after a long period of squatting, which is a compensatory mechanism for the body’s reduction in venous return, and generally requires no intervention.
2. Sinusitis: Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinuses due to viral, bacterial or fungal infection, manifested by nasal congestion, runny nose and cough. Nasal congestion is characterized by breathlessness and lack of oxygen, which may lead to dizziness. It needs to be treated for the primary sinusitis.
3. Hyperventilation: usually occurring under emotional stress, often accompanied by numbness of the fingertips and the perioral area, no special measures are needed to avoid emotional stress.
4. Anemia: severe anemia may also cause dizziness, need to carry out a full blood cell examination to rule out the existence of anemia, and treat the cause.
Children often dizziness is recommended to consult a doctor in time, under the guidance of the physician to identify the cause of the disease.
