Does meningitis cause nosebleeds?

Nosebleeds do not usually occur in meningitis, and the cause of these conditions should be analyzed. If the patient is on antibiotics, such as when cephalosporin antibiotics are applied, this may cause a disorder in the patient’s clotting mechanism and can cause a nosebleed. If the patient has thrombocytopenia, nosebleeds may also occur, which may be caused by anxiety and fire, and if necessary, the routine blood coagulation four tests should be checked to clarify. If the patient has dry nasal mucosa, it may also cause nosebleeds and should be analyzed comprehensively to treat accordingly. Patients with meningitis mainly suffer from inflammation of the meninges due to bacterial infection. Patients mainly present with fever, headache, nausea, vomiting, and may also show signs of meningeal irritation, including cervical tonicity and positive Neagle’s sign and positive Bruschitzin’s sign. In severe cases, patients may suffer from impaired consciousness, drowsiness, lethargy, coma, and decerebrate cortical state.
