Biliary stasis is an imaging diagnosis, and most gallbladder stones can manifest early as biliary stasis followed by the formation of bile sludge and stones. It is related to the long term irregularity of life without breakfast. The basis of cholesterol stone formation is an imbalance in the ratio of cholesterol, bile acids and lecithin in the bile, resulting in the formation of crystals, precipitation, aggregation and stones in the bile in a supersaturated state. Most of the cholesterol in bile originates from the biosynthesis of hepatocytes rather than from the secretion of cholesterol from the diet. The formation of cholesterol stones is mainly due to the supersaturation of cholesterol in the bile synthesized by hepatocytes and the nucleation of cholesterol crystals by proteins in the bile, while other factors are attributed to the impairment of the motor function of the gallbladder, which together lead to bile stasis and promote the formation of gallstones. What are the causes of biliary stasis? Primary intrahepatic sclerosis syndrome: It is a group of syndromes caused by non-specific inflammation of intrahepatic bile ducts, fibrosis resulting in intrahepatic biliary stasis and cirrhosis with nodular hyperplasia. It is now customarily called primary biliary cirrhosis, another name for chronic non-suppurative destructive cholangitis, biliary hepatitis, biliary biliary cirrhosis, and intrahepatic obstructive biliary cirrhosis. This syndrome may be due to non-purulent destructive inflammation of the septal and interlobular bile ducts due to autoimmune abnormalities, with bile duct hyperplasia; destruction, scar formation; structural destruction of liver lobules, regenerative nodule formation; histological changes of cirrhosis presenting significant biliary stasis. Dry syndrome: It is a chronic autoimmune disease that invades exocrine glands, especially salivary glands and lacrimal glands. The main manifestation is dryness of the mouth and eyes, but there can also be multi-organ and multi-system damage. There is a large infiltration of lymphocytes in the affected organs, and the serum is positive for a variety of autoantibodies. This syndrome is also called autoimmune exocrine gland disease, Sjogren’s syndrome, and dry mouth and eyes arthritis syndrome. It often overlaps with other rheumatic diseases or autoimmune diseases.
