How to predict your child’s height

The main methods of predicting a child’s height include drawing a growth curve and calculating the height according to the parents’ hereditary height.
1. Drawing a growth curve: This method requires the child to have a height record at each stage, and the data recorded at each stage will be taken to the pediatrician, who will then connect the points at each stage of growth to form a curve according to the growth curve table, based on which the child’s final height can usually be estimated more accurately.
2. Calculation of height according to parental inheritance: This method usually involves adding the father’s height to the mother’s height and dividing by two, adding 6.5cm to the result for boys and subtracting 6.5cm from the result for girls, which is usually a rough estimate of the child’s final height.
Height is affected by a variety of factors, both congenital and acquired, and the predicted height can only serve as a certain reference. Meanwhile, if you need to predict your child’s height, it is recommended that you go to the pediatrics department of a regular hospital for an evaluation.
