Alcohol consumption is not recommended after a pituitary MRI.
MRI is a relatively safe test and does not affect the patient’s diet or exercise after the test. However, from a health perspective, alcohol consumption is not recommended.
If the patient has a history of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc., drinking alcohol may lead to increased blood pressure and heart attack due to its stimulating effect on the sympathetic nerves. It also has an effect on blood sugar in diabetic patients.
MRI is one of the common clinical imaging tests, which is clinically safe and usually does not cause serious effects on the body.
It is recommended that patients consult their doctors before undergoing an MRI test.
