What are the characteristics of highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma?

Highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma is a kind of malignant tumor with better differentiation and tends to be less prone to regional lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis, so the prognosis is better than that of poorly differentiated and undifferentiated squamous carcinoma. Even for tumors of the same clinical stage, highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma has a longer survival time than poorly differentiated and undifferentiated. Therefore, even if the local lesion of highly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma is already large, it is likely to be cured by surgery if it is completely removed. Even if regional lymph node metastasis occurs, some patients may be cured after resection of both the primary tumor and regional lymph nodes, but other treatments such as adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy are often needed after surgery.
