First aid for children who swallow foreign objects

Children swallowing foreign objects first aid method mostly adopts the Heimlich maneuver.
When a child swallows a foreign body and chokes and has difficulty breathing, the Heimlich maneuver should be used immediately to provide first aid.
For infants under 1 year old, the Heimlich maneuver is performed: the rescuer places the infant face down, placing his/her body on his/her arms and leaning on his/her knees. The rescuer’s arm is placed against the chest, with the thumb and the remaining four fingers in the mandible, and the other hand is tapped five times on the infant’s back between the shoulder blades; then the infant is turned upright, and the index and middle fingers are pressed against the chest five times on the lower part of the infant’s sternum until the foreign body is spit out.
Children who can cough effectively, suggesting that the airway is not completely obstructed, should be encouraged to cough up the obstruction, as coughing is more effective than any shock method.
Children swallowing foreign objects adults should first remain calm, the use of Heimlich method of first aid at the same time to call the 120 emergency telephone, in order to avoid serious adverse consequences.
