Hawthorn has the efficacy of strengthening the stomach and eliminating food stasis, dispersing blood stasis and promoting circulation of Qi. The correct way to brew hawthorn is to wash it first and brew it with boiled water for about 5 minutes before drinking.
Hawthorn can strengthen the stomach, and has a relieving effect on gastric fullness, acid reflux, nausea, belching (burping), abdominal pain, and loose stools caused by food stagnation (the accumulation of indigested food in the stomach).
Hawthorn can also dissipate blood stasis and move qi, and is effective in relieving hernia pain, dysmenorrhea caused by internal obstruction of blood stasis, and chest and abdominal pain.
It cannot be taken by patients with spleen deficiency without food accumulation, and the adverse effects are not exact.
Hawthorn slices need to be cleaned first, and then put into a cup and add boiling water to brew, and then let it stand for 5 minutes, so that hawthorn is fully soaked. However, the effect of soaking is limited, and if possible, it can be taken after decoction.
Taking the above medicines need doctor’s guidance and help.
