How to treat ADHD

Childhood hyperactivity syndrome, also known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is the most common behavioral and psychological disorder of childhood. Attention deficit, hyperactivity, and impulsivity are the three major manifestations of ADHD in children. Treatment of ADHD is mainly psychological and pharmacological, with the use of central nervous system stimulants and tomoxetine hydrochloride. The commonly used central nervous system excitatory drugs are methylphenidate controlled release tablets, also known as Concentrate, which are commonly used for children over 6 years of age and need to be under the guidance of a professional doctor, starting with a small dose and adjusting the dose according to the efficacy and adverse effects. Tomoxetine hydrochloride is also used for children over 6 years of age, also starting with a small dose and adjusting the dose once every 7 days as needed until the target dose is reached. It is important to increase compliance with treatment and adherence to the medication under the guidance of a physician during treatment. On top of medication, training for parents is also very important. We need to help parents focus properly on the child’s behavior, set a realistic behavioral goal, adopt effective management strategies, promote parent-child communication, and improve treatment compliance. Psychotherapy also plays a very important role in the treatment of ADHD. At the same time, we need to pay attention to school education. The correct understanding of ADHD by teachers and the appropriate educational approach will help to improve the symptoms of the affected children, enhance their self-confidence and self-esteem, and improve their academic performance. The treatment of ADHD is based on medication. On top of medication, we need to pay attention to the importance of parental training, psychotherapy and behavior management school education.
