There is no “Yin Chen Granules”, there are Zang Yin Chen Granules and Jaundice Yin Chen Granules in the market. The efficacy and function of Zang Yin Chen Granules are to clear heat and remove toxins (removing heat and toxins from the body), dredge the liver and gallbladder (dredging the qi of the liver and gallbladder), and reduce jaundice; the efficacy and function of Jaundice Yin Chen Granules are to clear heat and remove dampness (removing heat and dampness from the body), and reduce jaundice. Jaundice Yin Chen Granules is made of Tibetan Yin Chen. It is used for acute and chronic hepatitis, chronic cholecystitis. Jaundice Yin Chen Granules is made of Yin Chen, Rhubarb, Scutellaria Baicalensis and Licorice. Among them, Yin Chen clears away heat and dampness to eliminate jaundice, Scutellaria baicalensis clears away liver and gallbladder dampness, Rhubarb clears away dampness and heat to eliminate jaundice, and Licorice harmonizes all the medicines (harmonizes the properties of different Chinese medicines). The combination of these herbs is effective in clearing away heat, inducing dampness and relieving yellowness. Both drugs can be used for liver and gallbladder damp-heat (damp-heat evils accumulated in the liver and gallbladder) type of jaundice, which is commonly characterized by yellowing of the body and eyes, pain in the abdomen and ribs, abdominal distension and stuffiness, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, bitter and dry mouth, dizziness and heaviness of the head and body (heavy feeling in the head and limbs), yellow urine, constipated or thin and sticky stools, and other symptoms.
