With the change of atmospheric pollution and climate, especially the influence of haze in recent years, the incidence of lung cancer in China is increasing, and according to incomplete statistics, lung cancer is the first place among disease deaths in China. Lung cancer is often asymptomatic in the early stage, and most patients often visit the doctor with symptoms such as persistent dry cough, hoarseness, hemoptysis or shoulder pain, so it is recommended that physical examination is crucial, and nowadays, people’s living standard is improving, so it is recommended that we should have annual physical examination for early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment. Lung cancer diagnosis and clinical staging play a crucial role in treatment. If there is an indication for surgery in early stage and the patient’s physical condition allows, I still recommend surgery, and for patients who lose the chance of surgery, they can be treated by radiotherapy, chemotherapy, biological therapy, targeted therapy and traditional Chinese medicine. There is an old saying that “there are always more solutions than difficulties”, so once you have lung cancer, don’t be discouraged, as medicine is constantly developing and more and more new drugs are coming out, the survival period of patients is significantly longer than before. Some lung cancer patients around me have survived 5 years or even longer. This requires a good mindset. According to the 2014 NCCA lung cancer treatment strategy, targeted therapy is recommended for patients with indications, which will result in minimal pain and long survival, or radiotherapy if there is no indication. With the continuous development of new drugs, the side effects of drugs are becoming smaller and smaller. Some patients think that they are too old to tolerate chemotherapy, but this is actually wrong. Chemotherapy is used to inhibit the expansion of cancer cells and minimize the normal damage to the body. This refers to “individualized treatment”. Different chemotherapy regimens and different doses of chemotherapy are formulated according to different physical and pathological types of patients. Finally, I would like to mention Chinese medicine treatment. Chinese medicine is effective in regulating human immune function and in killing tumor cells. Treatment is based on the principles of evidence-based treatment and four diagnoses. The principle of expelling the evil and detoxifying the toxin is used in the case of symptoms, and the principle of supporting the positive when the positive is weak. In conclusion, there are more and more methods to treat lung cancer. As long as the treatment is scientific, regular and individualized, ideal treatment effect can be achieved.
