Chronic liver failure, if not actively treated, generally has a survival period of 1 to 2 months; if liver transplantation is performed, the 6-month survival rate is about 65% to 90%. Chronic liver failure is usually in the late stage of cirrhosis with a poor prognosis, and should be treated with liver transplantation in a timely manner to slow down the progression of the disease. If liver transplantation is not obtained in time, it is easy to die in a short period of time. The earlier liver transplantation is performed, the better the prognosis will be. If liver transplantation is performed during the stabilization period, the 6-month survival rate can even be as high as 90%, and some of them can even survive for 20 to 30 years; however, if liver transplantation is performed during the period of severe illness, the 6-month survival rate will be greatly reduced. People with hepatitis are advised to have regular liver function checks and early treatment to prevent liver failure.
