Neck sweat may be physiological reasons or pathological reasons, such as hyperthyroidism, perimenopausal syndrome.
1. Physiological reasons: when the amount of exercise is too large, it will cause the body’s metabolism to increase, the phenomenon of sweating in the neck, when resting for a period of time, sweating will slowly decrease or stop. This is a normal phenomenon, do not need special treatment. Sweating needs more water to prevent dehydration.
2. Pathological causes: When hyperthyroidism and other diseases occur, the body’s metabolism will cause increased secretion of sweat, especially in the neck. At the same time, accompanied by increased diet, wasting and other phenomena, through the laboratory thyroid function can be clearly diagnosed. Drugs such as methimazole and iodine 131 can be used to treat the condition, and in severe cases, surgery is needed to remove most of the thyroid gland.
Neck sweating can also be seen in perimenopausal women, due to vasodilatory dysfunction caused by increased sweating. Simple neck sweating without other physical discomfort does not require special treatment, if it often occurs or accompanied by other symptoms need to consult a doctor in a timely manner, a clear diagnosis and standardized treatment in accordance with medical advice.
