Efficacy and effects of Secnidazole dispersible tablets

Secnidazole Dispersible Tablets is a nitroimidazole anti-protozoal drug, mainly used for the treatment of the following diseases, urethritis and vaginitis caused by Trichomonas vaginalis, intestinal amebiasis, hepatic amebiasis, giardia flagellaris. Alcohol is prohibited during administration to avoid disulfiram-like reactions. The anticoagulant effect of Warfarin is strongly inhibited, so it should not be taken by patients with previous blood abnormalities, and it is contraindicated in women who are or may be pregnant or breastfeeding. The adverse effects of taking this drug are metallic odor in the mouth, other adverse effects include digestive disorders such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, skin allergic reactions such as rash, urticaria, itching, dark urine, leukopenia, etc., which can return to normal after discontinuation of the drug.
