Most of the biceps femoris tendon injuries are caused by active sharp and strong or passive overstretching of the biceps femoris during exercise. Treatment mainly includes conservative treatment and surgical treatment.
1. Conservative treatment: in the acute stage of biceps femoris tendon injury, the first thing to do is to take a rest with braking, compression bandage, ice treatment and elevation of the affected limb. After the acute stage, infrared rays, hot compresses and massage can be chosen for recovery; patients with obvious pain symptoms can add non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac sodium and acetaminophen. The above drugs need to be used under the guidance of a doctor.
2. Surgery: Patients with severe biceps femoris tendon injury, such as muscle rupture, combined with hemorrhagic hematoma, etc., need to undergo surgery. Surgery mainly includes repair or reconstruction of biceps femoris tendon and hematoma removal. The specific type of surgery needs to be decided according to the patient’s own condition.
If the diagnosis of biceps femoris tendon injury is confirmed, early standardized treatment is recommended to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
