Children with HFMD at home should first be isolated in a timely manner to avoid contact with healthy people and secondary transmission of infection. After helping children with HFMD change diapers or handle contaminated items, wash hands with water and hand sanitizer, and do not share the patient’s towels or other personal items. Do disinfection work, clean the furniture, toys and floors that the child touches every day, and disinfect them once a week with a disinfectant containing chlorine. Patients’ secretions, vomit or excretions should be wiped with chlorine-containing disinfectant in a timely manner and scrubbed clean with water after 30 minutes. When taking children to major hospitals and small clinics for medical treatment, be careful to avoid contact with patients with HFMD to prevent indirect transmission.
