How to correct a deviated face

Facial deviation can be caused by incorrect chewing habits, temporomandibular joint disorder syndrome, and trauma to the face. Patients can be treated with medication, orthodontics and general measures as prescribed by the doctor for different causes. 1. Incorrect chewing habit: If one side of the teeth is used to chew food for a long time, it may lead to one side of the biting muscle becoming bigger, and the face becomes skewed from the appearance. Patients should chew with both sides of the teeth alternately. If one side of the face is seriously deviated, it can be corrected by local liposuction and face-slimming injections as prescribed by the doctor. 2. Temporomandibular Joint Disorder Syndrome: Patients may have symptoms such as facial deviation, joint popping and jaw movement disorder. Patients can be treated with orthodontic-orthognathic combination therapy, nerve stimulation therapy, nerve block therapy and so on. 3. Trauma to the face: Trauma to the face may cause the affected side of the face to be bruised and swollen, leading to facial deviation. Patients can apply local cold compresses within 24 hours after the injury to reduce swelling and relieve pain. Hot compresses should be applied 24 hours after the injury. If the degree of facial deviation is serious, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time.
