Can high blood sugar be cured?

Whether hyperglycemia can be cured needs to be judged by combining the causes, and hyperglycemia mainly includes primary hyperglycemia and secondary hyperglycemia. Primary hyperglycemia is mostly caused by insulin secretion disorder or insulin resistance, etc. In this case, hyperglycemia can only be cured clinically and generally cannot be cured completely. Secondary hyperglycemia, on the other hand, can be cured after removing the factors that cause the secondary hyperglycemia, and the blood sugar can be restored to normal level, which can achieve the purpose of root cure. Primary hyperglycemia: Commonly, such as type I diabetes, type II diabetes, most of the gestational diabetes and other types of diabetes, are mostly caused by factors such as insulin secretion disorder or insulin resistance. Because insulin is the main substance of the body to lower blood sugar, high blood sugar caused by this condition can only be controlled, not cured. Patients need to follow the “5 horsemen” of diabetes treatment, including diet, exercise, medication, timely monitoring of blood glucose and diabetes education, to keep blood glucose control at the basic standard, reduce acute complications of diabetes, and delay the occurrence and development of chronic complications. Most hyperglycemia is caused by primary factors, so most patients with hyperglycemia need lifelong treatment. Some patients in the pre-diabetic stage, i.e., impaired glucose regulation, and a few patients with gestational diabetes will improve their hyperglycemia through lifestyle intervention therapy or with the end of labor and delivery, but still require regular monitoring of blood glucose levels. Second, secondary hyperglycemia: common clinical diseases such as growth hormone tumor, Cushing’s syndrome, stress, surgery, trauma and other diseases may cause elevated blood glucose. Such secondary elevated blood glucose, after active treatment for the original disease, can make the blood glucose return to normal level and achieve the purpose of root cause, that is, can be treated.
