If the patient recovers well after cerebrovascular stent surgery, he/she can be discharged from the hospital in about one week, or longer if the patient has complications such as cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction.
If the patient’s general condition is relatively good when he is admitted to the hospital, and the stenosis of blood vessels has only caused minor symptoms, such as dizziness, weakness of limbs or transient fainting, etc., the patient usually recovers faster after the operation, and can be discharged from the hospital after one week of reviewing all the indexes normally.
If the patient’s condition is poor at the time of admission, and serious complications of cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction such as hemiparesis and aphasia have already occurred, the patient will need a longer time to recover after stenting. Patients with cerebral infarction need to be treated in the hospital with regular dehydration to lower the cranial pressure, nutritional nerve, and functional rehabilitation training after the operation, which requires a longer period of treatment. Individual patients with poor cerebral edema treatment also need to undergo debridement to save their lives.
