Christopher Winter, medical director of the Massa Jefferson Sleep Center in Virginia, graphically presenting the advantages and disadvantages of 3 common sleeping positions. 1, supine: suitable for men, GERD patients and people with cervical or low back pain. 2, side-lying: suitable for pregnant women as well as snoring patients. 3, prone: this sleeping position is generally not recommended.
