Why lupus erythematosus patients should not be exposed to the sun

Many SLE patients report that they cannot be exposed to the sun, and that they feel very uncomfortable, have redness on their faces or have their existing rashes aggravated after sun exposure. These are characteristic manifestations of SLE, and one of the diagnostic criteria, namely photoallergy. Ultraviolet light can induce an aggravation of the rash in SLE patients and even worsen the overall condition of SLE patients. Therefore, some SLE patients should avoid direct sunlight as much as possible, and at this time, they can go to places with stronger sun and more adequate UV rays as little as possible. Of course, if there is really no way, you can also protect yourself, such as wearing a mask, umbrella, sarong or sunscreen, so that you can block some of the ultraviolet rays and make its impact on your body less.
