What is the hardness of advanced cirrhosis

Cirrhosis hardness values are usually 12.4kPa or higher. The hardness value is mainly determined by liver elasticity examination. Liver elasticity score determination is an examination to detect the hardness of human liver tissue by ultrasonic means.
It has good diagnostic value for liver fibrosis and cirrhosis caused by chronic hepatitis, etc. 7.3-9.7kPa is mild liver fibrosis, 9.7-12.4kPa is moderate liver fibrosis, 12.4-17.5kPa is severe liver fibrosis or early cirrhosis, and more than 17.5kPa indicates obvious cirrhosis.
If the hardness index reaches 17.5 or above when checking liver elasticity, it can assist in the diagnosis of cirrhosis, but liver elasticity is not a criterion for the diagnosis of cirrhosis. The hardness value in the liver elasticity test is affected by many factors, such as inflammation, necrosis, edema and jaundice of liver cells.
Common causes of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis include hepatitis B, hepatitis C, autoimmune hepatitis, and idiopathic cirrhosis. When the elasticity score is abnormal, it is necessary to improve the relevant examination to further clarify the cause of the disease, and take active treatment as soon as possible to address the cause of the disease.
