Why no chemotherapy for ovarian cancer stage 1a

Most of ovarian cancer stage 1a does not need chemotherapy. Ovarian cancer stage 1a is the earliest ovarian cancer except ovarian carcinoma in situ, which does not need chemotherapy. However, if the degree of pathological differentiation shows that it is hypofractionated and there are prognostic factors such as vascular invasion or nerve invasion, stage 1a ovarian cancer needs chemotherapy, which can reduce the chance of recurrence and metastasis in the future. However, if there are no adverse prognostic factors, chemotherapy is not needed for stage 1a ovarian cancer, because after a lot of clinical studies, chemotherapy at this time is not beneficial to patients, but will aggravate the toxic side effects and even increase the mortality rate of patients, so it is not recommended at present.
