Muscle pain is associated with a variety of diseases such as acute infectious diseases, allergic reactions, hereditary muscle diseases and endocrine dysfunction. Generally, acute infectious diseases tend to cause generalised muscle pain, such as the febrile phase of leptospirosis and the septic phase, where the symptoms of generalised muscle pain are particularly pronounced and require immediate treatment at an infectious disease unit.
