How is rheumatic muscle pain diagnosed?

Rheumatic muscle pain has an obvious iatrogenic cause and is commonly seen in patients over 50 years of age with elevated blood sedimentation. The main locations of pain are in the shoulder, pelvic girdle muscles and neck, often with symptoms of muscle stiffness, which can be rapidly relieved by treatment with small doses of glucocorticoids, therefore, a combination of history taking, physical examination and laboratory diagnosis is required to confirm the diagnosis.
